Sinfully slow, an unknown threat creeps out of the shadows. Riffs cut through the lush fog. Drums that do justice to the german word ‘Schlagzeug’ in the first place break the ground. Deeply tuned bass runs open astral gates into distant worlds. Above all the chaos hover accusations that tell of fever dreams and dystopias, bundle dark forces and tell never described stories of hardly imaginable primeval times.
The sound cosmos of the doom & sludge band Raging Sloth, founded in Munich in 2018, captivates with its contrasting frenzy and inertia. The three musicians Max Horch (vocals, bass), Dennis Hecher (guitar) and Jonas Rückinger (drums) see themselves in the tradition of the “great old ones” of the genre. The ominous mixture of heavy, oppressive walls of sound and frenzied, hard groove riffs is reminiscent of grandmasters like YOB or Ufomammut.
In addition to numerous shows across Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic the band has gained momentum with performances alongside acts such as Ahab, Valborg, Neànder, Thronehammer and Oreyeon, as well as appearances at festivals like Keep It Low, Mammut Festival, Fury Field etc.
In September 2023, Raging Sloth unveiled their debut EP, »The Descent«, recorded with producer Jan Oberg (Earthship, Grin) in Berlin and mastered by Magnus Lindberg (Cult Of Luna). The album received widespread critical acclaim, earning top ratings. A subsequent release tour featured over 20 concerts, further solidifying their rising presence.

The mastering was done by none other than Magnus Lindberg from Cult Of Luna for a crushing sonic experience! The stunning artwork was created by Aaron Bonogofsky – a visual masterpiece to match the crushing weight of this track.
