Hamburg, Germany based stoner/alternative/post-hardcore duo Darkona presents their debut album, »Encounter«, available now via Doom-Monger Records.

Two individuals of Hamburg’s punk/hardcore scene, Karl Nagel (Militant Mothers, Kein Hass Da) and Mirco Berner (Razzia, Derail, Verida, ANA), decided in 2024 to do a record together. Mirco had the vision, to create his own version of stoner rock, including post-hardcore among other alternative styles, for a long time.

Says the band: “We label our music as independent – stoner rock. The music by Darkona is deep, dark, melodic, melancholic, and surprises through complexity. Atmospheric, psychedelic, but often impulsive, snappy, and heavy groovy. The album has concept and takes you on a trip to consciousness, if you listen to it from start to finish. But the songs are self-contained and can be listened to individually.”
