Behind Mojo Blizzard stands an unbridled passion for massive riffs, gritty grooves, and deep songwriting. The stoner and doom metal band from the southwestern Black Forest region of Germany was born out of a spontaneous idea in 2018. After a year of intense rehearsal room work, the collective unleashed its distinctive sound upon the world: a powerful blend where the energy of Black Sabbath, Kyuss, and Candlemass collides with the spirit of Iron Maiden, Priest, and classic hard rock.

From the very beginning, the band’s foundation has been built on the interplay of diverse musical roots spanning stoner rock, punk, and metal. A central flagship is frontman Nicolaj Ruhnow, who brings massive musical weight to the table with over two decades of international experience – including tenures as the vocalist for NWOBHM legends Tokyo Blade (including a performance at Wacken Open Air), Domain, and Nick Hellfort. Guitarists Denis Keller and Frank Hallok shape the dense sonic landscape with uncompromising riff-driven passion and fuzz sounds, backed by Nino Hofmann on bass.

Their debut album »Lost In Space II« (2020) and captivating live performances – including a nomination at the London Video Awards and an appearance at the Radio Regenbogen 2 Festival – quickly earned the band their first record deal. In the winter of 2022/23, they followed up with their second album, »The Evil Crown«, which received high praise from the metal press. To celebrate the album live, the band expanded their lineup by adding a third guitarist, David Rapp.

Following this intense chapter, a line-up change took place: after years of sharing the same path, founding member Mauro Welfens, who had crowned the songs with his versatile drumming up to that point, parted ways with the band for organizational reasons. However, with their latest addition, Thomas Armbruster on drums, the band quickly found the perfect fit to unleash a new, unstoppable dynamic within the current lineup.

In October 2026, Mojo Blizzard unleashed their third studio album, »Fragments Of Insanity«, via the 7hard label. The concept album dissects the human psyche as a multi-layered mosaic. The new album »Fragments Of Insanity« is anything but a bouquet of sweet melodies. Deep C-tuning, fuzz-fueled riffs, spacy guitar walls, and highly versatile vocals form the unshakeable cornerstones of the new tracks. Music media outlets like Powermetal.de certified the band’s explosive mixture early on: “A whole lot of 70s Priest meets 70s Sabbath and 90s Kyuss, but also Heep and Purple meeting Candlemass and Iron Maiden.”

With »Fragments Of Insanity«, Mojo Blizzard prove once again that they have perfectly forged these influences into their own modern monster. The advance single »Follow Me Now« proved their independence all over again!
