Godzilla In The Kitchen announces new album »Termination Sequence« and upcoming tour dates; performing multiple sets at Wacken Open Air this week!

Leipzig, Germany based alternative metal trio Godzilla In The Kitchen has announced their new album, titled »Termination Sequence«, set for release on October 23rd, 2026.

Compared to the band’s first two instrumental albums (released via Argonauta Records), there are three major changes: it is the band’s first release on Tonzonen Records, the first album featuring new drummer Thiago Presto, and – most notably – the band’s first album to include vocals.

Godzilla In The Kitchen are also returning to the Wacken Open Air festival this week for their fifth consecutive year, performing multiple sets as part of the Wasteland / Wackinger Village program.

Three musicians. Two continents. A new beginning. Welcome to the next stage in the evolution of Godzilla In The Kitchen.

Gunshots – AK-47s firing relentlessly. It’s 5 a.m. in a favela in Rio de Janeiro. Whether this was the trigger or simply the last straw that broke the camel’s back, Thiago Presto’s bags are packed: in 2019, he emigrates to Leipzig.

Five years later. Two driven musicians, Simon Ulm and Eric Patzschke, are facing the end of their band, Godzilla In The Kitchen. Their drummer is gone, and how to restore the once perfectly matched trio in 2024 remains a huge mystery. But as has always been the case throughout the band’s history – a history that reached its first major milestone in 2022 with an appearance at Wacken Open Air – giving up was never an option. The allure of the big stages and the thunderous applause was simply too strong.

After a chain of countless coincidences, Thiago Presto finds himself behind the drums of the band. He brings an explosive dose of power and Maracatu to their progressive, psychedelic groove rock. Everything changes.

The days of being purely instrumental are over. It’s time to speak up, to address what needs to be said, to channel emotions – Simon Ulm takes over vocal duties. What was once an instrumental rock band has now become a powerful alternative metal machine with contemporary lyrics. World events are subtly reflected upon and placed within the vivid imagery already familiar from the band’s previous albums:
