Four years after the release of their critically acclaimed sophomore record »Darkness Is My Home« (2021), Night Resident return with their most complete and mature work to date: »Total Obscurity«.

On their third studio album, the band ventures down a slightly different path, embracing faster tempos and leaning further into the goth/dark-wave elements that have always haunted their sound. Yet their trademark remains intact: signature dual-harmony vocals and melancholic lyrics exploring themes of isolation, existential crisis, overwhelm, and defeat.

A clean, warm, and organic production brings these songs to life with striking clarity, while the eerie hand-drawn cover art by Black Vomit perfectly captures the mood and atmosphere of the album.

»Total Obscurity« is not an album to dip in and out of, it’s a record that demands to be experienced in full, with each track leading inexorably into the next. With it, Night Resident seem to have found their truest identity, carving out a specific path that balances continuity for longtime listeners with evolution and ambition. For new fans, it’s the perfect entry point into their world of darkness, melody, and introspection.
