The Belgian quartet Gros Coeur releases »Vague Scélérate«, their highly anticipated second studio album, a work that digs deeper into their musical identity while expanding their unique blend of tropical psychedelia, progressive rock, kraut, and dance-driven pulse. Out today, November 21, 2025, via Spinda Records’ Trippy Series, the album arrives together with the music video for »La Vague«, the focus track of the release and the central piece in the marine universe that permeates the entire record.

An album like an unpredictable wave
The album’s title is inspired by the idea of the vague scélérate, a massive and sudden “rogue wave” formed by the perfect stacking of several oceanic waves. A precise metaphor for an album that moves through accumulation: intuitive, expansive, emotional, and always in motion.

The focus track: »La Vague«
»La Vague« was born from “[…] a motorik riff as sharp as a shark’s tooth […]” – the starting point of the oceanic imagery that would shape the album. It is Gros Coeur’s longest and most exploratory piece: an open-sea journey where calm, drift, tension, and storm follow one another with organic naturalness.

The music video reinterprets The Raft of the Medusa through a psychedelic lens. With flea-market costumes, handcrafted props, and slow-motion choreography, the band creates “[…] a small, colorful short film made with love […]” to accompany the track’s 13-minute duration.

Previous singles: »Montréal« and »Contre-Corps«
Prior to the album release, Gros Coeur unveiled »Montréal«, a single marked by hypnotic grooves, rhythmic frenzy, and their signature blend of modern psychedelia and danceable soul.

The second preview, »Contre-Corps«, delved further into the album’s most emotional and expansive side. Eight minutes of tropical tension, rhythmic trance, and restrained melancholy exploring the gap between collective euphoria and individual introspection.

Meticulous vinyl edition
