Heráldica de Mandrake bassist and producer Vicente Zamorano ended his life earlier this week

Earlier this week, long-time Heráldica de Mandrake bassist and producer Vicente Zamorano commited suicide.

About this tragic loss, guitarist and vocalist Francisco Visceral opens up in his statement on social media:

“With great sorrow, I inform you of the passing of our friend, bassist, and pillar, Vicente Zamorano. Vicente joined Heráldica de Mandrake in 2019 and quickly became a fundamental member of the project. He recorded with us »Rehearsal Under Repression«, during the 2019 Chilean curfew, the live album »Live at Orlita Romero’s Grave«, the single »Marcha para una Generación de Condenados«, and our latest full-length album, which is about to be revealed. His last legacy that we will share as soon as possible.

Vicente dedicated all his energy and time to help me bring this project to life, with no other interest than artistic motivayion. He never wanted to take a cent of the “profits” we made, insisting on reinvesting them in equipment and instruments for the band, despite taking on the task of recording and mixing almost all our titles since he joined us.

Cristian and me are devastated. Vicente was one of the few friends I trusted completely.
We send warmth and empathy to his partner, parents, and friends. He was and is deeply loved by all of us.

My friend: you are gone. You leave me with a pain that will stay with me forever. The great artist and human being you are cannot be contained in any paragraph I write. We rehearsed clandestinely during the pandemic and the fascist repression of Piñera. We played with Bob Liebling and shared with Procession. You were at my wedding. You supported me in all my compositions, no matter how counterproductive or anti-commercial were, without asking anything in return. You played and recorded our latest album. You supported me during my panic attacks, expressed love when I needed it the most. You understood me like only my wife and a couple of others do. Sometimes, without even saying a word. I am half the musician without you. Your bass will forever resonate in our work. You will be the flame I need whenever I am drained, just as you were in life. I will work as hard as I can to honor your memory and recognize you as the genius and talented artist you are.”

Heráldica de Mandrake, self proclaimed techno-warlocks of Chilean doom metal, recently released their full discography for the first time in a double CD compilation through underground labels Manifectation Prods. and Kuyen Producciones. Entitled »Magia subversiva metálica«, this release includes their monumental debut »No hay caminos cortos a la libertad« (No Shortcuts To Freedom) and their 20 minutes single EP »Esto también pasará« (This Too Shall Pass).

This CD spell also includes an unreleased new track titled »Marcha para una generación de condenados« (March For A Doomed Generation), an hymn that rescues the slow monolithic and traditional sound of Reverend Bizarre and the negative punk attitude of Saint Vitus.

Tracklist:
01. Prólogo: Tres testigos
02. No me inclino ante nadie
03. Mil noches de insomnio
04. El temple para dejar todo atrás
05. La doctrina de los saqueos
06. Esto también pasará
07. Marcha para una generación de condenados

Heráldica de Mandrake is a Chilean doom metal band whose albums tell the story of oppression, revolution and a dark age in an ancient civilization in the reign of Mandrake, a land before Pangea existed. This double CD will contain the complete chronicles.
