Disfuneral is a four-piece old school death metal band hailing from Nancy, France.
Born in 2015, these French deviants known as Disfuneral create death metal of the purest form. Their only release thus far has been a self-released, self-titled EP that came out back in 2017. Obsessed with their demo, Redefining Darkness Records re-released it in March of 2021 and jumped at the chance to work with the band on their first full length LP, »Blood Red Tentacle«.
While their lyrical themes are heavily inspired by HP Lovecraft, the music is a throwback to death metal’s humble beginnings in bands like Nihilist, Autopsy, Dismember, and early Death. There is nothing new to be discovered here… »Blood Red Tentacle« is simply a band giving their aural dissertation on what death metal is and should be.
In April 2025, French death metal quartet Disfuneral returned with their 2nd LP, »In Horror, Reborn«, featuring more gore, putridity and disgust than ever before! Once again mixed and mastered by Robert Pehrsson at Studio Humbucker (Death Breath, Tribulation), the album is as visceral as ever, and captures the band at it’s peak.
