Guts (Death Metal // Finland)
Guts is a death metal band spawned in Turku, Finland. Founded in 2020, Guts consists of Iiro Hustovaara (guitar), Jaakko Hentilä (guitar), Mikko Saari (bass), Jani Kiiski (drums) and Juha Kivimäk (vocals).
Their well-received groovy style feasts on a strong base in the rhythm section, accompanied by guttural vocals and catchy riffs. The heaviness of the old school death metal, influenced by the Nordic, American, and British scenes, fuses together to build an abysmal pool of badassery, where Guts scoops the filthiest chunks for you to digest. No tricks, no sugar coating, just pure live recorded death metal slaughter in its purest form. Medium paced, unstoppable and terrifying, like Michael Myers from the Halloween movies.
Guts released their first full-length album, »Decay«, in March 2023 via Morbid Chapel Records / Vargheist Records. It was recorded and mastered at V.R. Studios by Jussi Vuola, after being mixed by Juho Välitalo.
In January 2025, Guts returned with their highly anticipated 2nd album, »Nightmare Fuel« (Morbid Chapel Records / Vargheist Records). It was recorded at V.R. Studios by Jussi Vuola and mixed and mastered by Niko Lehdontie. This is old school death metal from Finland, done the traditional way. 11 tracks and 43 minutes this is a full course meal of death metal offered in brutal fashion.
