Nalar (Melodic Death Metal // Germany)
Berlin, Germany based band Nalar move between melodic death metal and black metal without committing to strict stylistic boundaries or classic genre boxes. German lyrics, a dark and oppressive atmosphere, and a distinct melodic approach shape the sound of this band, active since 2019.
After forming, the band released their first EP and quickly made a name for themselves through numerous club shows and several festival appearances. Among their early highlights was the performance at Dark Troll Festival 2023, where the organizers described Nalar as “the secret rising force of the underground.” Further live milestones include shows with Ellende, Illdisposed, Fleshcrawl, and other notable acts of the extreme metal scene.
Nalar went on to appear at festivals such as Protzen Open Air, Devil’s Covenant Festival, Blue Moon Festival (alongside Melvins & Harakiri for the Sky), and the Pain & Gain Festival, where they supported Asenblut.
Their EP »Veränderung«, released in June 2023, received strong acclaim from the metal press. Zephyrs Odem awarded it 8.7/10, praising its individuality and broad musical range. Nalar just released their debut album »Lichtgestalt« in February 2026, further expanding their characteristic blend of melody, atmosphere, and heaviness.
