Hidden Gems & Guilty Pleasures: Teratum (Sweden)

Teratum (Black/Thrash Metal // Sweden)

Teratum is a four-piece black/thrash metal band from Stockholm, Sweden.

Upon the wretched annihilation of Beastiality in the cursed year of 2024, there arose from the smoldering ashes a force most terrible and divine: Teratum. With a two-song promo tape the following year to announce their arrival, the Swedish quartet are now set to unleash their first widely available recording: »Ordnance Of Spiritual Warfare«.

Whilst not ditching the blackthrashing mania of Beastiality entirely, Teratum here conjure a sulfurous storm that runs parallel to their belligerent predecessor, asserting an iron-fisted identity all their own. Indeed, the thrashing is violent, but the black deepens into a malodorous void. Spidery leads instill a sense of the ancient, and songwriting runs from the murderously swift to the moonlit entranced. No influences need be known, but rest assured that they’re old – and that »Ordnance Of Spiritual Warfare« actually brings something new to the idiom.

Maniacs for Nifelheim, Desaster, Zemial, Sweden’s Morbid, and Germany’s Poison will surely begin paying obeisance to Teratum, on evidence of this four-song / 21-minute attack with spell. The conflagration that shall consume this forsaken earth is come!

Teratum’s highly anticipated debut mini-album, »Ordnance Of Spiritual Warfare«, will be unleashed on August 21st, 2026 through Dying Victims Productions on CD and 12” vinyl formats. Pre-order HERE.
