Icelandic folk/doom/industrial metal band Drungi share new single and music video »Alda«

Reykjavík, Iceland based folk/doom/industrial metal band Drungi has released new single and music video »Alda« taken from their upcoming debut album.

»Alda« is available now on Spotfiy, Apple Music, Amazon Music and other streaming services!

Inspired by the harshness of Icelandic nature, newcomers Drungi enter the scene armed with all the ferocity that Mother Nature has to offer. From 2019, members looked for inspiration from various natural phenomena and so their riffs roll with the power of the ocean, ripping forces of landslides, as well as the terrifying and awesome volcanos that ravage the country.

Bassist Magnús and guitarist Loki started with an idea that has come together with the awesome energy of vocalist Sjafnar as well as guitarist Rúnar and the final piece clicked in 2021 with the addition of the drummer Sandra.

In the mid months of 2020, the band released their debut single »Ófærð«, honoring the ever-common closures around the country due to weather and the terrifying experience that snowstorms can offer. In 2021 the band headed to the renowned Sundlaugin Studio, where they started work on their album.

Later joined by Stephen Lockhaart of Studio Emissary, as producer. Drungi has a unique sound that mixes modern metal with the origins of 70’s doom, mixed with the folk stories of Iceland and the nature contained within.
