Two distinct forces from the Turkish metal scene come together for a dark collaborative project.

Ankara-based Cursed In Eternity and Istanbul-based Illusions Play join forces on »Doomed«, a two-track split release built around an unusual exchange of roles between the two bands.

The first chapter, »Ashen Sky«, is out now.

On »Ashen Sky«, Cursed In Eternity provides the music and instrumentation, while Illusions Play takes over the vocal side, combining deep growls and female vocals with lyrics in both English and Russian.

Rooted in atmospheric doom/death, the track incorporates elements of melodic death metal and black metal, moving from massive, slow-burning riffs and bleak melodies toward increasingly dark and intense territory.

Lyrically, »Ashen Sky« descends into isolation, decaying memories and the quiet pull of death – a state where pain no longer burns with heat, but remains like a frozen fire beneath the surface. The recurring image of an ashen sky becomes a symbol of a world in which light no longer offers a way out.

The concept of »Doomed« goes beyond a conventional collaboration. Across its two songs, the bands exchange their musical roles.

On »Ashen Sky«, Cursed In Eternity provides the music while Illusions Play performs the vocals.

On the second track, »Ash Beneath The Sun«, the roles are reversed: Illusions Play provides the music and Cursed In Eternity takes over the vocals.

Together, the two tracks form one shared descent into darkness.

»Doomed« will be released in full on September 4, 2026.
