Introducing: A horror themed death/doom metal band Superstatic from Dublin, Ireland!
Superstatic is a horror themed death/doom metal band based in Dublin, Ireland, which started in 2017 as a solo project by Rustam (under the name of Alex), the founding member of Rakoth and Umbral Presence. The name of the band was taken as a reference to the debut Rakoth album »Superstatic Equilibrium«. Superstatic has released two full-length albums to date and is currently in the process of creating a third one.
Superstatic’s first album »Key To The Abyss« is based on the works of Russian horror writer Ilya Masodov and was released in 2018. Music wise it’s death/doom metal with subtle elements of black metal, slow death metal, classic doom metal and sludge. In 2021 »Glimmering Veil« was released and is the second album by Superstatic. This album isn’t conceptual and is based on works by Harlan Ellison, Wilhelm Hauff, Arthur Machen and videogames Morrowind and System Shock 2. The music leaned more towards funeral doom metal, became darker and more complex, incorporating elements of horror and moving away from black metal influence of »Key To The Abyss«.
In 2022 Superstatic formed a full live line-up and debuted in Bloodstock competition “Metal 2 The Masses” in March which was received quite well. Since then they’ve performed a number of shows in Ireland and entered M2TM Bloodstock competition once more where by judges vote proceeded to the semi-finals.
