Malsten’s debut album, entitled »The Haunting Of Silvåkra Mill«, was released by underground label Interstellar Smoke Records on 24th July in a limited vinyl edition as well as digitally worldwide. The album conveys the story of mysterious disappearances in a rural parish in the deep south of Sweden at the dawn of the 20th century. Centring on the events that took place in and around one of the larger mills in the parish, the story is one of malice, hunger, fury, and sadness.

»The Haunting Of Silvåkra Mill« offers four chapters of the story, inspired by the awakening of the evil at Silvåkra Mill and the vile deeds committed within its grasp. The story is narrated from the perspectives of victims, the possessed miller, and Mortimer Aghardt, an angst-ridden vicar who desperately tries to come to terms with the inexorable terror. First convinced that the disappearances are caused by unauthorized emigration, Aghardt orders a census to be taken at all nearby congregations of Silvåkra parish. Before the first census is even taken, however, both the worldly and sacral authorities receive reports of missing children, taken from unsuspecting parents in neglected moments. Surely, these can not be explained by the opportunist disobedience of the weaker spirited parishioners.

And there is also the strange sensations emanating from the old mill on the barren hill. Sights, sounds, smells and faint screams on the wind. A nameless evil lures Aghardt to the mill, were no one has seen the miller in daylight for at least a decade.
