Introducing: Sludge/stoner/thrash/grunge trio Magic Chicken Fudgetoe from Perth, Australia!
Magic Chicken Fudgetoe from Perth, Western Australia are a grunge oriented beast, originally emerging from a shared passion for the underground sludge, thrash and noise rock scenes from the 1980s and 90s. Taking equal parts influence from all things heavy and gnarly, the result is an abrasive but hook-heavy sound taking as much of a sonic que from Kreator as the Pixies. Formed in 2015 by Josh McGuire (vocals, bass), Andrew Riordan (guitar) and Reece Fleming (drums).
Off the back of their previous releases Magic Chicken Fudgetoe supported Yawning Man, 1000Mods, Seedy Jeezus and in 2022 the three-piece have been focused on releasing their latest series of infectious singles. Starting with the chaotic punk-thrasher »No Personality« released June 24th, the power-pop heavy »Get Somewhere« released September 30th and the latest being »Yahweh« released January 13th, 2023. All recorded, mixed and mastered by Ryan Pearce at Savage Studios.
In August 2023 Magic Chicken Fudgetoe started demoing new tracks at Vision Studios for their sophomore album.
