Dublin, Ireland based grunge trio Ritual Effect is gearing up to release their new single »Blindside« on February 28th, 2025.

Not conforming to one particular sound, Ritual Effect draw influence from the ’90s alternative sounds and inject a powerful and furiously original contemporary edge to their song-writing. The Dublin-based three-piece have dragged the once infamous grunge genre into a new realm, thanks to their crushing live presence, and modest back catalogue. The band’s name is testament to their dedication and commitment to giving their all, both on record, and when performing.

“»Blindside« is about dealing with a loss. There’s so much in life that you can prepare for, but I don’t think anyone can be ready for the whirlwind of emotions that come with losing somebody. To sum up the vibe of the song in one lyric, I think “Blissful past won’t help you bleed” conveys the message well. Regardless of how happy or effortless your life has been before this experience, the path ahead is completely uncharted and this new pain needs to be felt, endured and understood before moving forward. There is also an immediate sense of fear as to how life will be in the future without this person, and if things will ever really be ok.” – Ritual Effect
