Irish sludge/post-metal band Partholón to release new album »The Ocean Pours In« on July 5th; first single »Pillars« premiering this Thursday!

Cork, Ireland based atmospheric sludge/post-metal band Partholón has announced their second full-length album, »The Ocean Pours In«, which will see the light on July 5th, 2024. Vinyls will be released in colaboration with Moment Of Collapse Records and Ripcord Records while tape and CD release will be handeled by Fiadh Productions.

First single »Pillars« will be premiering this Thursday via Veil Of Sound.

Biography:

Partholón, known for their ability to seamlessly blend lingering melodies with crushing riffs, has been a driving force in the post-metal scene since their inception. Hailing from the South coast of Ireland, the band consists of Daniel Howard, Alan Setter, James Grannell and Barry Murray, whose collective musical prowess has earned them acclaim for pushing the boundaries of the genre while maintaining a distinct identity and sound.

Their debut release »Follow Me Through Body« (2016) laid down a foundation of extremely heavy music with a heightened emotional charge. A split 7″ release with Soothsayer (IRL) followed, titled »All We Are«. A new album and EU tour was on course for delivery in 2020, however the global pandemic changed everything and survival as a band and beyond became a visceral and immediate reality. Partholón have endured to deconstruct years of work and produce an album worthy of their life experiences and efforts.
