Bosco Sacro spent all of 2024 working on new music. Unlike their initial phase, they developed their songwriting by practicing and experimenting as a live band as much as possible, embracing the classic rehearsal space. The four members live in different parts of Italy, separated by hours, kilometers, and other commitments. For this reason, finding the right opportunities to come together and focus on a new flow of music has always been challenging. This live album is a pivotal part of that process. It marks a significant moment along the transitional path connecting their debut »Gem« to the sophomore studio album.

In fact, »Live At Chiesa Armena« emerged from a brief residency curated by Go Down Records, spent within the quarters of a sixteenth-century villa in northeast Italy. The band spent three incredibly productive days there, immersed in the villa’s inspiring surroundings and its charming, colorful chapel, where they often gathered to chant or savor the silence. They switched between these peaceful moments and long sessions in the rehearsal room, making crucial strides in shaping their second – yet unreleased – album while enhancing their friendships and band cohesion.

On Sunday, August 4th, 2024, the quartet wrapped up this experience by performing at the Armenian church for an intimate, warm, and passionate audience. The concert footage, like the album, captures the simple, magical ambiance of the show. The setlist included »Gem« in full and three new songs: »The Future Past«, »Dong-Dee«, and »Undertow«. Two of them will also appear on Bosco Sacro’s next record.

About the band:
Bosco Sacro is an Italian quartet founded in 2020 by musicians who have been actively releasing and performing within the Italian and European underground scene for the past decade: Paolo Monti (The Star Pillow, DAIMON), Giulia Parin Zecchin (Julinko), Luca Scotti (Tristan da Cunha), and Francesco Vara (Tristan da Cunha, Altaj).

They are inspired by visions of the sublime, reconciling vastness that comes from contact with nature and landscapes. Furthermore, they share a genuine devotion to the practice of music as a healing and liberating force. Their sound features dreamy atmospheres, slowed-down rhythms, and intense sonic and spiritual depth, drawing influences from ambient, doom, and trip-hop.

Their debut album, »Gem«, was recorded with the expertise of producer Lorenzo Stecconi, who has worked with Amenra, Zu, Ufomammut, and Lento, among others. It was released on LP, CD, and digitally by Avantgarde Music in 2023. In August 2024, the band joined a brief art residency curated by Go Down Records at a sixteenth-century villa. This experience culminated in a captivating live performance at the villa’s chapel. The same label recorded the concert and will release »Live At Chiesa Armena« in April 2025.

Bosco Sacro toured across Europe and repeatedly Italy, receiving invitations to festivals such as Brutal Assault, A Colossal Weekend, Frantic Festival, Curtarock, and Bear Stone. Audiences and critics have described Bosco Sacro’s live performances as passionate, cathartic, explosive, ritualistic, and genre-crossing.
