The band was born in 2017 by Helios on guitar/bass and Claudio on keyboards and samplers. In Lugubre Tenebris play atmospheric funeral drone with samples, inspired by 70s style horror atmospheres like Goblin, Jacula, industrial metal bands like Godflesh/Jesu, heaviness of doom bands like Conan, and drone with the founders Sunn O))).

Atmospheric funeral drone is a music subgenre that combines elements of doom metal with ambient and drone music, often featuring slow tempos, heavy distortion and atmospheric soundscapes. It’s characterized by its dark, introspective and emotive sound, often exploring themes of mortality, despair and existential crisis.
