Milan, Italy based dystopian horror post-metal solo project Dark Aries has released new single »Experiment 66 Mena’s Origins«. The release was recorded, mixed and mastered by Project Kremisi.

D.A.P. (Dark Aries Project) is an experimental solo metal project enriched with horror elements, emerging in 2017 but gaining visibility primarily from 2020 onwards. Created by the former guitarist of Nænia, Varganath, and session musician for Walls Of Ashes, the project has completed several EPs and albums, with only two achieving modest success so far.

The project stemmed from the idea of wanting to do everything independently, as the sole member realized being too flexible across genres and lacking patience for collaboration with others. Three EPs have garnered more attention, interlinked by a convoluted and distinctive storyline – The Walk Of The Archons, Project 66, and The Arrival (yet to be unveiled with the upcoming single).

These three EPs are connected by esoteric and sci-fi themes, intertwining science and spirituality under a single narrative. Mena, the protagonist of The Arrival, is a deity linked to artificial intelligence, revered as a god born from Project 66 – an array of experiments featured in the »Project 66« EP, giving rise to a spiritually elevated being fueled by AI. The projects were conceived by three Archons.
