The Italian masters of epic doom metal, In Aevum Agere, are back with their fifth full-length offering, »Ptolomea – Canto XXXIII«. This ambitious work serves as the fourth and final chapter of their quadrilogy inspired by Dante’s »Divine Comedy«. Guided by the vision of vocalist and guitarist Bruno Masulli, the trio delivers a sonic pilgrimage that transcends the abyss.

While the previous albums dwelt in the darkness of Hell, this one largely explores the path of repentance and the trials found in Purgatory, culminating in a soaring, celestial finale where the music reflects the ultimate ascent into the light of the highest Heaven. The songwriting has reached a new peak of sophistication, where the crushing weight of traditional doom meets their trademark shredding and intricate guitar harmonies.

Expect a masterful balance of somber, elegiac passages and thunderous double-bass urgency verging on thrash, that sets this band apart from their peers.
