Born from the creative partnership of V. and Z., longtime collaborators in the avant-prog project Zirkus der Zeit, Blu Mamuth represents a complete artistic rebirth. Departing from their progressive roots, the duo has crafted a soundscape that combines tribal hypnosis, industrial noise, and emotive sonic experimentation. Using electronic instruments, keyboards, samplers, computers, and voice effects, Blu Mamuth creates a raw and immersive auditory journey.

»Ka Ora!« is an exploration of sound and sensation, meticulously constructed with attention to every noise and detail. It is an invitation to shed societal masks and reconnect with a deeper, more instinctual way of being. Tracks such as »Hunter« showcase the band’s ability to channel primal intensity and abstract storytelling through a “New Language” that transcends traditional forms of communication.
The album evokes the raw intensity of artists such as Fever Ray, Zola Jesus, Lamb, Trentemøller, Swans’ Jarboe era, John Carpenter and Anna von Hausswolff, creating a visceral and boundary-pushing experience that resonates deeply.
Blu Mamuth’s debut album marks the start of a bold, transformative journey through sound, inviting listeners to lose themselves in a world of tribal rhythms, industrial intensity and raw emotion. »Ka Ora!« is available on February 21 via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.
FFO: Fever Ray, Zola Jesus, Trentemøller, Swans (Jarboe era), John Carpenter.
