Italian instrumental post-metallers Ainu to issue self-titled debut on Subsound Records this June 28th; stream first single »Khrono«!

Genoa, Italy based sludge/post-metal trio Ainu has recently signed with Subsound Records to release their self-titled debut album on June 28th, 2024.

The album’s first single »Khrono« is premiering now on The Sleeping Shaman!

Up-and-coming Italian post-metal/post-doom instrumentalists Ainu are set to release of their self-titled debut this June 28th on Subsound Records, and premiere its first single »Khrono« exclusively on The Sleeping Shaman!

Featuring special guests Francesco Bucci (Ottone Pesante) on brass trombone and Giorgio Nattero (Carcharodon) on lap steel, this debut single is described as “a scintillating journey that traverses a post-metal, doom and psych landscape” by The Sleeping Shaman editor.

Ainu is a Genoese cinematic sludge/post-doom trio established in 2021. The project stems from the trio’s passion for cinema and their close relationship with the sea, its stories, and its creatures. Their debut album »Ainu« is a concept record that moves between powerful and stirring soundscapes, building up at a slow but steady pace between psychedelia and post-metal. It is an intense, dense and emotional experience that uses the descriptive foundations of seamen and the calls of huge animals to recall the connection between sound and the environment that composes it.
