Palermo, Italy based one-man traditional doom metal band Sleeping Dark has just released his debut EP »Days Of Mourn« on December 13th, 2022.

Bedroom trad doom metal for the sake of archivism.

“Midway in my lyceum years I finally fell in love with all the doom metal that lied beyond Sabbath.

A couple of friends introduced me to Candlemass, Pentagram, Pagan Altar, Saint Vitus, Witchfinder General, Sarcofagus as well as old heavy metal acts such as Desolation Angels or Warlord, while labels like Mark Hegedus’s Psychedoomelic or The Miskatonic Foundation became guiding lights in my search for dark, slow music.

In the wake of this newfoundland of isolationist nerdism I began to do some home recordings of a few songs along those lines for a project going under the name of Sleeping Dark.

I’d never ever published these songs before although some riffs have been since taken and recycled within songs of other projects I’ve been in.

Everything from the name of the project to vocals and songwriting is 100% naif, sketchy and windy, so take this as it is, i.e. bedroom doom wanking of a snotty 17 years old boy.”
