The musical project Littu took shape in 2018 after the break up of the band Apneica. Alessandro Seghene and Ignazio Simula are still continuing the narrative path already undertaken, with the latest work, entitled »Tra rocce e cortecce« (“Among Rocks and Bark”) published in 2018 with GS Productions.

In »Accolti da antiche radici« (“Welcomed By Ancient Roots”) the musical bridge continues, yet there was a desire to propose sounds that embrace more melodic harmonies.

This led to the choosing of only the melodic singing of Simula, which will alternate between Italian and Sardinian. This is accompanied by combination of the softer guitar timbre and unmissable clean parts, in the hope of creating the right atmosphere to best represent the proposed musical journey.

The term “Littu” in the Sardinian language is used to represent the dense forest of the island. It’s commonly used in the mountainous areas of the region, mainly in Barbagia and Ogliastra.

Still today, we can find ancient holm oak trees, such as the giant “Sa Melabrina” downy oak which is likely to be the oldest in Europe, dating back millennia. These alone are a testament to today’s natural wealth of the landscape, representing the tangible echo of the immense forest that covered the island until the 18th century.

The symbiosis of the vast forest and the abundant fauna which envelops it, harmoniously united as one, has been home to various populations of the world since ancient times. In turn, becoming a “natural home” providing food, shelter, peace and slowness, spiritual and ritual connection.

The sheer beauty of these natural landscapes are capable of inspiring artists, being a muse for creative ideas and their works. Whether they are paintings for a painter or images for photographers.

Littu was born from the fascination aroused by the vision, the contact, the silence, the colours and the monuments admired during walks in the green areas of Sardinia.

»Accolti da antiche radici« will be released digitally on March 3rd. Find digital pre-orders at THIS LOCATION where first single, »Per il fuoco di Gennaio«, can be streamed.
