Friday 16 October 2026 sees the digital release of »Destination Is A Grave«, the new single by Abysso Relicta via Seahorse Recordings. The track precedes »Mannequin Mayhem«, their debut album, due in November. The record’s fifth track confronts the meaning of the journey when every road leads to the same end.
Abysso Relicta are Federico Nardon, Stefano Micari and Christian Basile, an Italian trio whose language moves between post-rock, alternative rock and dark atmospheres, bringing together layered guitars, synths, sparse passages and sudden sonic openings. Their stated reference points include A Perfect Circle, Mogwai and I Like Trains, absorbed into an approach that favours tension, dynamics and narrative development.
»Destination Is A Grave« begins with the idea of an inevitable destination: what can change is not the point of arrival but the way we cross what comes before it. The track follows an identity gradually losing its bearings and trying to reassemble itself between the urge to leave and the desire to return – a journey in which disorientation and recognition become two movements within the same search. In the lyrics, this tension takes shape through elemental images: a road with no direction, footsteps turning into questions, answers that burn. The search for identity remains open and unresolved, revealing the precariousness and disorientation that run through the rest of the album.

»Mannequin Mayhem« widens this perspective into a world populated by disposable human beings, exposed to memory loss and self-destruction. Abysso Relicta’s debut sustains a constant tension between stillness and collapse, introspection and pressure, making sound the place where individual fragility and contemporary unease meet.
Abysso Relicta formed in 2022 in north-western Italy, in an imagined sonic no-man’s-land between Piedmont and the Aosta Valley. The trio – Federico Nardon, Stefano Micari and Christian Basile – have developed a strongly atmospheric, cinematic language suspended between emotional tension, contemporary darkness and sudden sonic detonations. Their influences range across math rock, grunge, post-rock, post-punk and dark wave, with reference points including A Perfect Circle, Mogwai, I Like Trains and Tool. Their writing favours dynamics, layering and narrative tension, alternating minimal, contemplative passages with eruptions of guitar, distorted synths and insistent rhythms. The songs build through accumulation, evoking twilight landscapes marked by alienation, fragmented memory and existential unease. In 2026, Abysso Relicta bring this vision fully into focus with »Mannequin Mayhem«, their debut album for Seahorse Recordings, preceded by the single »Destination Is A Grave«.
