»Mara« is the presence that in nocturnal folklore sits on the chest of the sleeper, paralyzing the body while the mind stays awake. It is also the third act of a line that spans the band’s entire discography: Onibaba on »When She Met Herself«, Janara on »Rest And Fight«, Mara now. Three records, three presences watching from the dark.

Formed in Tuscany, Italy, in 2021, Asa’s Mezzanine write instrumental music that moves between progressive and post-metal, in non-linear cinematic structures built on rhythm, dynamics and tension. Following the EP »When She Met Herself« (2022) and the album »Rest And Fight« (Overdub Recordings), they have shared the stage with Maruja (UK), Årabrot (NO), Mr. Bison, Gotho, LVTVM and Alphataurus.
