Nepenthes is hard rock/doom rock band from Tokyo, Japan, since 2012!
Formed in 2012, the protagonists of the Tokyo heavy rock scene gathered together. Their lively live performances show excitement just like a feast, and they have released two full-length albums, »Scent« (2015) and »Confusion« (2017). In the spring of 2017, they embarked on a US West Coast tour with Noothgrush, and in 2018 they supported Sleep at Shigegami, who made a miraculous first visit to Japan. Bassist/vocalist Goto Tatsuya (Barebones) joined in the summer of 2018, completing the current impregnable line-up, and since then they have been slowly preparing for their new album.
The content of this work makes you think that the theme is “confronting heavy rock/doom head-on once again”. A series of killer riffs on all songs ~ groovy rhythm that is an absolute signature ~ a scream full of poetry that combines boldness and intelligence will be released in 2023 by removing only “old” from the classic heavy rock/hard rock of the 70’s.
