On the heels of their first confirmed performance in nearly two decades, as part of Roadburn 2024, Khanate have announced two additional shows: April 22 at Copenhagen’s Basement, and April 23 at Berghain in Berlin.
Khanate have also shared a compilation of live footage, with clips taken from the »Dead & Live Aktions« DVD, released in 2005.
Khanate are also on the cover of The Wire’s December issue, discussing their critically-acclaimed 2023 release, »To Be Cruel«, and the impending catalogue spanning reissues.
Reissues of »Khanate« (2001) and »Things Viral« (2003) arrive via Sacred Bones on December 1st. Pre-orders for »Khanate« can be found here and »Things Viral« here. »Capture & Release« and »Clean Hands Go Foul« reissues are forthcoming.
Khanate recently ended their self-imposed hiatus with the Spring arrival of »To Be Cruel« (Sacred Bones Records), ending a 14-year hiatus for the band. Stereogum said the three-song, sixty-plus minute album is “just as uncompromising as their past work,” SPIN declared them “more relevant than ever,” and Decibel, in a sprawling Q&A with James Plotkin, said of the influential outfit: “Even calling them a doom band sells them short. The cramped corner of hell that Khanate takes the listener to, sonically and psychologically, is way beyond doom. It’s doom as a forgone conclusion…”
Khanate tour dates:
