With its accumulated knowledge and experience, Left To Starve started experimenting with their sound and decided on a paradigm shift in the band’s approach to sound and composition.
The band accepted contemporary sludge and doom conventions, reserving the punk ethos which got them to play extreme music in the first place. A new direction the band took on their latest record »Nikada se nisam bojao zmija«, released by Rope Or Guillotine Records, is best described by Sean Reveron of CVLT Nation as a “hellish ride into a cave of darkness where the feedback is the only light that shines”. Reveron also listed the record in the CVLT Nation’s top sludge records of the 2019.
Following the success of their last album, Left To Starve recorded a new album in 2021, which reflects the band’s habitualness/daily grind within the transitional postsocialist context of Croatia which can be described as an Achilles paradox, where thesupposed enhancement of everyday life always escapes the footsteps of transition.

Not to drop into nihilism, the band emphasizes the importance of utopian thought and its restoration in metal music for the sake of subversion.
