02. Yama – Wish To Go Under
03. Yama – The Absolute
04. Yama – Naraka

In the summer of 2015, in the Italian Dolomites, a friendship between two European heavy underground bands was struck. About a decade later, Roman psych-doom quartet L’Ira del Baccano and Tilburgian doom rock outfit Yama join forces in a musical collaboration: their split album »Tempus Deorum«, released on March 28th through Subsound Records (Italy).

L’Ira del Baccano’s contribution comprises a drawn-out 19-minute instrumental psych doom jam, in which they fully expand the concept of an ever-evolving song, taking a theme and leading it on a dynamic roller-coaster journey, reshaping it through the heaviness of doom, the psychedelia of improvisation and the precision of progressive rock.

Yama bring some of their doomiest tracks to the table and experiment with psychedelic drone elements, in collaboration with producer David Luiten (Autarkh). »Tempus Deorum« (“Time Of The Gods”) is not only an allegorical congregation of deities, it is also the blossoming of psychedelic heaviness.

Rome based L’Ira del Baccano melt doom and stoner rock influences such as Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Monster Magnet; the psychedelia of Pink Floyd and Hawkwind; the heavy-prog vibes of early Rush; modern bands like Motorpsycho, Elder, Monolord and the Italian progressive heritage.

Yama are a heavy outfit hailing from Tilburg and Utrecht. They combine stoner, doom and post-rock riffs with pounding rhythm and raw edged vocals. The band warrant atmospheric jams, but with an eye for concise song writing.

Yama released their »Seaquake« EP in 2011 (Mindflare Media), followed by the full-length album »Ananta« in 2014 (Lighttown Fidelity). In the 2010s they shared the stage with notable acts like Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats, Graveyard, Saint Vitus, and Orange Goblin. Perhaps you also caught one of their shows at renowned festivals like Roadburn (NL), Freak Valley (DE), Into The Void (NL), Yellowstock (BE), or Pietra Sonica (IT).

After a hiatus of 6 years, 2024 marks the return of the band. They undertook a Dutch-Belgian reunion tour (2024) and plan for a Spring tour in Germany and Belgium (May 2025).

Early 2025 will also bring the release of the split album »Tempus Deorum« with L’Ira del Baccano (Subsound Records).
