Doomdelic instrumental space prog rockers L’Ira Del Baccano are back with their official 4th album on Subsound Records »Cosmic Evoked Potentials«. The album release will be preceded by a video for the single »The Strange Dream Of My Old Sun«.

L’Ira Del Baccano melt doom influences such as Black Sabbath with the 60’s/70’s psychedelia of Pink Floyd and Hawkwind, the heavy-prog vibes of early Rush, as well as the performing freedom and attitude of jam bands such as The Grateful Dead.

Producer and guitarist Alessandro Santori says about the album: “»Cosmic Evoked Potentials« is a rite of passage, the end of a cycle and already blooming of another. Surely our most instinctive effort so far. We went back to our roots of live recording, this time instead of a stage we chose an old mansion from late ‘1700 outside Rome. The atmosphere there was so charming and stimulating that 13 minutes of a 45 min long improvisation ended up in the album. We wanted the dynamics and moods of the parts to be the most important thing, taking more time than our usual developing the ‘story’ of the songs.”

The project, originally formed as Loosin ‘O’ Frequencies (which released a MCD produced by doom guru Paul Chain) was born from by Italians Alessandro “Drughito” Santori and Roberto Malerba. In 2007 they decided to turn the band into an instrumental act and call it L’Ira Del Baccano. In summer 2008 the band released its first (live) album – »Si non sedes is… Live«. During the following two years they played many gigs in Italy, sharing stages with bands like Nebula, Witchcraft, Doomraiser, Vibravoid and La Ira de Dios.

In the fall of 2013 L’Ira Del Baccano recorded the second album, but this time in a studio….the result, »Terra 42«, is released by Subsound Records in October 2014 and it has’ been received by many critics a modern day master class in bringing the stoner, psych, doom, prog and metal genres together. During 2015/16 the band took on the road new and older songs playing many gigs and sharing stages with bands as Ozric Tentacles, Ufomammut, Zu,…

In October 2016 the band entered Kick Recording Studio in Rome to record the new album and in March »Paradox Hourglass« was presented in Rome with a sold out concert. The album was officially released by Subsound Records at the end of April 2017, distributed in Europe and the US. The following months will see L’Ira Del Baccano again on the road to promote the album around Italy, France and Germany.

In 2019 Subsound Records decided to release for the first time in Vinyl and CD the band debut album. In November 2019, L’IRA went on tour across Italy, Austria and Germany to promote the album and played at festivals such as Dome of Rock and Psychedelic Network Festival, where the band has been recorded in multitrack… the result: »Don’t Panic Sessions Live at Psychedelic Network Festival«, is available in digitally on Bandcamp from January 2023. March 2023 will see the release of the italians 4th official album on Subsound Records »Cosmic Evoked Potentials«.
