Private Prisons is a blackened sludge/death/doom project from Los Angeles that is almost impossible to pin down because of everything they have to offer musically. Latest LP »Theo Lacy« showcases this beautifully, described by the artists as “a Dear John letter to Orange County, its gratuitous excess at the expense of others, and the selfishness of its people.”

Intensely personal & critical of self & society, tapes are available through both Fiadh & the band (who also have CDs for preorder) on September 4, 2026.

“»Theo Lacy« is a Dear John letter to Orange County, its gratuitous excess at the expense of others, and the selfishness of its people. It’s about the ways we imprison ourselves in addiction, greed, and consumerism. In our attempts to escape, we fund the war machine in the form of ICE raids at home and regime change abroad. We gave blood, sweat, and tears to this record. I hope it motivates you to eradicate what binds you. I hope it helps you become ungovernable.”
