Kuala Lumpur’s extreme doom/sludge outfit Runtuh return with their 4th album release and latest full-length offering »Holy Tumour«. Now operating as a quartet with the addition of Richard Allan Bates on bass duties, Runtuh is back with possibly their most devastatingly punishing record to date – and certainly their most experimental. The primary title tracks »Sanctimonious«, »Unsolicited« & »Famine« see the band delving deeper into depressive black metal, aggressive grind bursts and chaotic atmospheric dissonance, whilst still retaining their time-honored roots of primal slug-paced doom worship and signature nihilistic sound that they have come to be known for on their records and on stage. The ‘interlude’ pieces »Servitude«, »ill, Tumour« & »Prey« see the band exploring new territory of abstract improvisation. All four ‘interlude’ pieces were fully improvised live recordings with no pre-rehearsals or corrective post-editing. They are raw, imperfect and dangerously vulnerable – just like the band has always chosen to present itself. Where their previous release »Ambiguous Man« set the fundamental base for societal disarray and moralistic hypocrisy, »Holy Tumour« penetrates deeper into the void of existential conflict, self-deception, observations of human arrogance, loneliness and self-righteousness. The glorified mass worship of systemic belief systems that mark the death of human compassion, love and sovereignty.

»Holy Tumour« is also available for consumption via Necrolatry Records (Malaysia) and Lawless Jakarta Records (Indonesia).
“O’ Holy Man, you destroy your benevolent grace with hollow chains of servitude. You sever the light in yourself.” – Runtuh
