Barcelona, Spain based psychedelic rock trio Maragda premiere their second studio album, »Tyrants«, which was just released today, May 8th, 2024 via Spinda Records.

The new album from the power trio is here, titled »Tyrants«, and it contains 8 tracks filled with psychedelia, progressive, and garage.
After releasing »Tyrants«, »Skirmish«, and »My Only Link« as singles, Maragda now releases their second studio album, »Tyrants«, via Spinda Records.
This way, the Barcelona-based band presents the follow-up to their successful self-titled debut (2021), the single »The New World« (2022), and the live EP »The Reckless / Evil Seed« (2023). In this new album, the band immerses us in a introspective journey through a blend of topics ranging from selt-imposed limitations to the struggle for values, love, hope, and farewells. All of this unfolds in a hypothetical fantasy universe, where psychedelia and progressive rock constantly merge, adding nuances of other styles such as garage.

For the creation of »Tyrants«, Maragda embarked on a creative journey that led them to the Big Snuff Studios in Germany, where they worked with producer Richard Behrens, known for his work with bands like Kadavar and Elder. Subsequently, the mastering was handled by acclaimed engineer Peter Deimel (known for his work with bands like Motorpsycho) at the Black Box Studios in France, thus consolidating a successful collaboration that began with their debut album. In terms of visual design, the band has once again partnered with Error! Design studio (known for their work with Explosions In The Sky, Russian Circles, Mastodon) for the album’s graphic design.
»Tyrants« is now available on all streaming platforms, as well as on CD and in a vinyl edition, limited to 100 copies in black color and 400 in white color with orange splatters, part of Spinda Records’ ‘Trippy Series’, alongside bands like Moura, Viaje A 800, Saturna, The Silver Linings, Empty Full Space, or Moundrag. Alongside the release of Maragda’s new album, the band’s live session recorded recently at Siete Barbas Estudios in Barcelona is also available. This session marks the first time the band performed live the three singles from »Tyrants«.
On Saturday, May 4th, they kicked off at Volcano Fest in Tenerife the tour to present this new album. Madrid, Barcelona, and Torredembarra are the announced cities for a tour that will take them through much of Europe in Autumn, with the support of booking agencies Annibale Booking (EU) and La Novena Escena (ES).
