Guadalajara, Mexico based doom/death metal band Call Ov The Void presents their new single »A Peaceful Surrender« featuring Błażej Kasprzak (Batushka, Sturmovik) on vocals.

»A Peaceful Surrender« is the second single from the upcoming Call Ov The Void’s debut full-length album, »On Grief And Dying«, set to release on March 15th, 2024 on every digital platform worldwide.

Call Ov The Void is a doom/death metal band from Guadalajara, Mexico. Formed in 2018 by José Luis Vargas (guitar/vocals), Jorge San Román (bass/vocals), René Álvarez (guitar), and later joined by Axel Fabricio (drums), with the aim of contributing their own interpretation of the genre, more melodic, introspective, yet aggressive.

The band made its debut on February 23, 2019, opening for Majestic Downfall at the former Anden – Cultural Forum of the city of Guadalajara. Later that year, on August 26, they released their first EP »Drowned«, recorded at MadHouse Studio by John MQ and Samuel Becerra, capturing the sound of classic genre bands such as Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, and especially the atmospheres of early Katatonia albums, as well as the melancholy of bands like Alcest or Agalloch, serving as the band’s introduction.

After performing live for several years alongside acts like Batushka, Matalobos, and Aetherevm, the band finally announces their first LP »On Grief And Dying« for March 15, 2024.

Loosely based on the stages of grief proposed by Swiss psychologist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, this debut full-length album compiles eight tracks (including an intro and a ballad) that delve into the various ways of experiencing loss and grieving.

With exceptional production by Samuel García, coupled with the brilliant mastering by legendary producer Dan Swanö, and the spectral voices of Błażej Kasprzak (Batushka, Sturmovik) in »A Peaceful Surrender«, »On Grief And Dying« is an album dedicated to fans of 90’s doom/death, incorporating influences from black metal and melodeath that characterize the band.

Depressive, captivating, and immersive, it promises to be Call Ov The Void’s most intricate and profound work to date.
