New clouds are visible on the horizon… Las Nubes are back again with »Pesada«, the latest single of their new studio album, »Tormentas Malsanas«.

Las Nubes drop today »Pesada« as the latest single from their second studio album »Tormentas Malsanas« which will be released on June 14 – pre-order here. In this album, they continue to develop an alternative rock full of fuzz, pop melodies, garage-punk attitude, and structures that bring them closer to genres like dream pop and shoegaze; all with lyrics in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

The band was founded by Emile Milgrim and Ale Campos, two key women in Miami’s noise scene, who have toured extensively across the United States alongside bands like Shannon and the Clams, Sheer Mag, Torche, and the legendary Iggy Pop – they were the first all-female lineup of The Stooges – who has supported them for quite some time.

Following the EPs »Matter That Soils Or Blackens« (2014), »Conveniently Broken« (2015), and »Some Things To Let Go« (2017), the band released their debut album in 2019, »SMVT«, showcasing their characteristic blend of punk rock attitude and dream pop sound, all filled with fuzz, in various languages, and with a strong ’90s vibe. A year later, in 2020, they released a new split EP with the band Palomino Blond; and in 2022, the live album »Live Nubes«. This led them to Ecstatic Peace / Daydream Library (Thurston Moore’s record label from Sonic Youth), where they released early versions of the songs »Enredados« and »Drop In« in 2023, which are now part of their new release, »Tormentas Malsanas«.

On April 19, they released a new single titled »Would Be«, reflecting on missed opportunities in life with a sound reminiscent of bands like Pixies, Hole, or Lush. Now, they are back with their latest preview, »Pesada«, where the band explores genres like stoner and sludge to talk about people who always boast until the moment of truth arrives. This new single is accompanied by a music video directed by Mariana Mendoza.

Endorsed by none other than Iggy Pop, who has continually given them radio time on his BBC show, Las Nubes have already appeared in international publications such as KEXP, KCRW, Rolling Stone, Radio 3, Idioteq, Mondo Sonoro, Post-Trash, Indie Rocks!, God Is In The TV, and Ruta 66.

Their new album, produced by Jonathan Nuñez (Torche), will be released on June 14 through Spinda Records (in the United States via Sweat Records Records and Godless America), under the umbrella of the ‘Noisy Series’, alongside bands like Fin del Mundo and Battosai. »Tormentas Malsanas« will be available on CD and vinyl, in a limited edition of 300 copies on marbled green vinyl, which can be pre-ordered here.
