Dutch psychedelic occult rock sextet Molassess featuring four former The Devil’s Blood members reveal the title track of their upcoming first full-length album, »Through The Hollow«, set to release on October 16th, 2020 via Season Of Mist.
Molassess were beckoned to life as a commissioned performance for the 2019 edition of Roadburn Festival, five years after The Devil’s Blood – a chaotic coterie of musical misfits lead by efficacious guitarist Selim Lemouchi – ended their fever dance. The invitation inspired new shoots of creativity to blossom where death had walked. The Devil’s Blood’s supernal singer Farida Lemouchi formed new bonds with old cohorts Oeds Beydals, Job van de Zande and Ron van Herpen (Astrosoniq), Bob Hogenelst (Birth Of Joy) and Matthijs Stronks (Donnerwetter). The band is not a continuation of a buried past, nor a celebration of a cherished collaborator, but a culmination of heartache and a rediscovery of rage and the relighting of a fire that never really burned out. Now, with the band’s first full-length, Molassess are setting out on a new path.
“We have been impatiently waiting to reveal to you the embodiment of our first venture downwards. After our one and only performance as a new pack we kept on digging, and we can’t be more thrilled about where it has taken us so far: »Through The Hollow«. She proudly carries forth seeds of the past, present, and future and cuts loose entirely within the new sonic search of Molassess. We are deeply looking forward to show you what this means as it will soon surface. Keep an eye and ear out. Until soon. Our first full-length »Through The Hollow« will see the light of day on October 16 via Season Of Mist,” says the band.

From Season Of Mist:
Season Of Mist are proud to announce the signing of Dutch psychedelic rock ‘n roll formation Molassess. A new full-length will be released in the fall of 2020.
The band, featuring four musicians from The Devil’s Blood, was beckoned to life as a commissioned performance for the 2019 edition of Roadburn Festival. Yet Molassess is not a continuation of a buried past, nor a celebration of a cherished collaborator, but a culmination of heartache, requisite resolution, a rediscovery of rage and the relighting of a fire that never really burned out.
The Dutch six piece comments on the signing: “This newborn beast is growing vastly within us. Calling out in ways yet to explore. We are excited to become one with its ever expanding language the coming years. We will be its best host possible, together with our newly formed alliance. A call for adventurous spirit is reaching out its formless hands, moving forward in blatant celebration of the irrational. We are more than ready to surface and start pouring out this cosmic glue over mind and matter. Drunk on Molassess!”
