After and while playing in Kyuss, Dwarves and QOTSA, Nick Oliveri started Mondo Generator in Austin, Texas in 1997. The band would record its first 3 songs for the bands debut »Cocaine Rodeo« with Nick Oliveri on Bass and lead Vox, Josh Homme on Guitar, Brant Bjork on Drums, and both John Garcia and Chris Goss on back up Vox at Chris Goss’ Monkey Studios in Palm Springs, CA. The TX based Mondo Generator – Nick Oliveri, Burnt Mattress and Rob Oswald returned 4 months later to finish recording songs for »Cocaine Rodeo« and another hand full of singles and b-sides for compilations with other bands.

2003 – 2011 saw a lot more Mondo Generator releases, including the Ipecac Recordings release »A Drug Problem That Never Existed«, the self released »M.G. Part 3 the EP«, Mother Tongue Records would release Mondo Generator’s »Dead Planet: SonicSlowMotionTrails«, and Nick Oliveri’s solo debut »Demolition Day«. The Aussie label Impedance Records would release the Mondo Generator’s »Dog Food« EP (which featured longtime friends Dave Grohl, Happy-Tom and Marc Diamond) and Oliveri’s second full length solo effort – »Death Acoustic«.

Later Mondo Generator self released »Hell Comes To Your Heart« and Italian record label Heavy Psych Sounds would release the 2XLP set – »The Best Of Nick Oliveri’s Mondo Generator«. the Italian label is also releasing a series of Oliveri vocal fronted recordings, titled »N.O. Hits At All – Vol. 1 – 7«.

The newest Mondo Generator studio record »Fuck It« is the best by far with song writing partners Nick Oliveri and Mike Pygmie along with Mike Amster the new material flys high and free.

Mondo Generator »Live At Bronson« is also now available on Heavy Psych Sounds Records.

Stöner is the new band with Brant Bjork, Nick Oliveri and Ryan Güt, and has released 2 new LPs; »Live At Mojave« and »Stoners Rule« both available on Heavy Psych Sounds Records.
