Mooch, a name rapidly gaining resonance in the spheres of heavy psychedelic rock, is thrilled to announce the release of their much-anticipated third studio album, »Visions«. As a band that masterfully blends the sonic textures of down-tuned desert rock with the raw intensity of ’90s grunge and the expansive scope of ’70s psychedelia, Mooch stands out as a unique voice in the modern rock landscape. Their music is a haven for those who yearn for the golden era of The Doors yet crave the contemporary edge of bands like Kikagaku Moyo and Queens Of The Stone Age.

Set for release on May 3, 2024, »Visions« represents a pinnacle of creative synthesis for Mooch. Composed of three lead vocalists and multi-instrumentalists – Ben Cornel, Julian Iac, and Alex Segreti – the band’s third full-length record arrives on the heels of their successful sophomore effort, Wherever It Goes. Since forming in Montreal in 2014 and after a few years of lineup refinements, the trio has firmly established themselves, maintaining a dynamic presence even with members spread from Montreal to Yellowknife.

Mooch embodies the D.I.Y ethic from their in-house production to graphic design and video editing, making »Visions« not just an album but a testament to their artistic integrity and independence. This album was recorded by Jordan Barillaro at Tonebender Studio and Jared Matthews at Soundbagger Studio, mixed by Jared Matthews, and mastered by Richard Addison at Trillium Sound Mastering Studio, ensuring that every note resonates with the clarity and depth that the music demands.

The album’s art and visual aesthetic, crafted by Alex Segreti, encapsulates the thematic depth and sonic breadth of »Visions«. From the opening instrumental track »Reflections« – a cascading motif meant to emulate the depth of one’s thoughts – to songs like »Hangtime« and »Vision«, the album traverses a spectrum of emotional and philosophical landscapes. »Hangtime« delves into the anxieties of uncertainty, while »Vision« imagines a better future fueled by the relentless pursuit of happiness.

»Visions« is not just an auditory experience but a call to emotional and intellectual engagement. The track »Morning Prayer« evolves from a lament of lost hope to an optimistic rallying cry, reflecting the band’s ability to weave complex emotional narratives into their music. Similarly, »Intention« warns of the perils of unchecked power, and »Together« celebrates the strength found in unity, emphasizing Mooch’s commitment to not only musical but also social resonance.

The impending release of »Visions« will be supported by the “Visions Tour 2024,” a series of performances across Eastern Canada in May 2024. Presented by Black Throne Productions and Interland Events, the tour promises to deliver the Mooch experience with full force, accompanied by bands like AAWKS, Earth Altar, and others including The Hazytones and Mountain Dust, ensuring a rich palette of sounds for attendees.

Mooch has consistently demonstrated a capacity to deliver electrifying performances, whether bathed in psychedelic lights, enveloped in fog, or under the open skies. Their performances are more than concerts; they are immersive experiences that reflect the band’s intricate musicality and the visceral energy of their live shows. Known for their rigorous touring schedule and their ability to connect with fans, Mooch has earned accolades for their live performances, including a memorable stint at Yellowknife’s Folk on the Rocks festival.

As Mooch gears up for the release of »Visions« and prepares to take the stage once again, their journey is one of relentless creativity and communal experience, inviting listeners to partake in a musical odyssey that is both reflective and forward-looking.
