Brazilian hard rock/stoner rock band Murdock stream their brand new track »Irônico Maldito«, available now on all streaming platforms via Abraxas Records.

The track is a tribute to rock and roll ‘n’ roll from 70’s inspired by names like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Brazilian rock ‘n’ roll. Premiered first by the American site Doomed and Stoned, the song was officially released last Saturday and talks about the psychological duality and internal conflicts.

The band Murdock from the city of Tijucas / Brazil started as a trio in 2019 more pointed to a psychedelic rock project, but the heavy side spoke louder and then they began to work with heavier sound and fall headlong into the sonorities linked to the stoner, hard rock and doom, which was the kind of touch and timbre that worked best for the band, referencing bands like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple and also more popular names contemporaries like Kadavar.

In the year of 2020 they recorded their first single with the new line-up and in the month of June they released the first track named »Olhos Sinistros« inspired by Horror books and movies, as »Olhos Sinistros« tell a horror tale. The track was recorded at the SoundBeat Studio in the city of Itapema by the producer and friend Rafael Rau. After this the band released their first live in partnership with the prominent page Void Stoner Doom Worship, named »Murdock – Live in Void«. In that session the band presented five authoral songs. The presentation helped the band to have some attention from outside.

At the end of 2020 Murdock released the second single named »Porcos« making a social criticism of the fascist and liar government of the current President, where they emphasize the manipulation of fake news. The big novelty of this single was the entry of producer Rafael Rau taking the role of second guitar in the band, bringing more weight and powerful riffs for Murdock’s sonority.

At the beginning of 2021 the band then decided to start working in their first studio EP »Entre Tigres e Lobos« featuring five brand new songs and the remaster of »Olhos Sinistros« are present, betting on a seventies-inspired and dense sonority with a great work of guitars, raw vocals and an immersive and heavy atmosphere. The first single from this work, »Irônico Maldito«, will be presented in April as preview of this material and presents a band arriving at a good level of maturity and conviction of their sound, influenced by rock and metal bands as Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, and also by Brazilian names of rock’n’ roll in Portuguese like Casa das Maquinas and Patrulha do Espaço.
