NYC’s Witnesses is preparing to release the haunting new single »Joy (Beyond The Sound Of My Voice)«. Incorporating powerful metal rhythms, progressive leads, intricate melodies, and emotive vocals, Witnesses’ offering traverses an array of textures. The upcoming album, Joy, will be released in 2024 and focuses on themes of spiritual and intellectual freedom.
Greg Schwan comments: “»Joy (Beyond The Sound Of My Voice)« is the first single from the forthcoming full-length, »Joy«. This song weaves a lot of influences together – The Peaceville 3, Katatonia, and more – into a song about moving past and away from people, ideas, and memories that harm you.”
About Witnesses:
The project of multi-instrumentalist Greg Schwan, Witnesses has taken a multi-genre approach via a non-traditional band structure since its inception in 2016. Employing cinematic atmospheres, metal, and sparse acoustics, Witnesses delivers immersive and enchanting soundscapes. The project’s dynamic discography most recently includes the cinematic ambient »IV« (2021), and atmospheric doom releases »The Holy Water« EP and follow-up single »The Curse Of Tarry Town, Or The Hessian’s Diary« (both from 2022).
