New Zealand blackgaze/post-metal trio Earth Effigy releases new single »Lazarus«

Auckland, New Zealand based blackgaze/post-metal trio Earth Effigy is back with new single »Lazarus«, released on February 14th, 2026.

“Post-modern, post-stoner, doom, sludge, shoegaze. Muggy, monolithic, and mysterious antipodean rumblings from Tamaki Makaurau, Aotearoa.”

Earth Effigy are a three piece band from Auckland who at this stage would rather let the music speak for itself.

Earth Effigy about »Lazarus«: “A 9 minute offering of blackened grunge type shit.

A deep cut from the voice memo archives has been rediscovered and finished between Tamaki Makaurau and Meanjin. Written at some point in 2019, resurfaced in 2025.”
