Kristiansand, Norway based melodic doom metal band Omegashift has announced their second full-length album, »The Burden Of Storms«, scheduled for release on November 20th, 2026 via Nordic Mission Records.

Norwegian band Omegashift will release their new album, »The Burden Of Storms«, on November 20 via Nordic Mission, an organic, deeply human record built on interaction rather than perfection.

Recorded without a click track, Auto-Tune or drum quantisation, and with 100% real drums, »The Burden Of Storms« captures Omegashift as they truly sound together. Every member brings their own personality, influences and imperfections to the music, creating something that feels alive rather than artificially polished.

“This is a mirrored image of what we can do, not what we can’t,” the band explain. “With heart, flaws and years of consuming music, »The Burden Of Storms« is the collective core of the five members, each member contributing their personal piece of the puzzle.”

Musically, Omegashift build from a foundation of melodic doom, metal and hard rock, adding unexpected turns, eccentricity and Jorunn’s distinctive vocals to create something deliberately difficult to categorise. The band have little interest in following current trends or writing music that reveals everything immediately. Instead, these are songs designed to grow with repeated listens.

“There is nothing straightforward with Omegashift. We do turns and probably backwards flips sometimes, but the final product is 100% us, with a lot of heart, feelings, heaviness and a desire to leave something positive in the world.”

Omegashift released their first mini-album in 2022, with Veil Of Sound describing its 38 minutes as “exquisitely performed Heavy Doom Metal.” With »The Burden Of Storms«, the band push that identity further while remaining committed to the human interaction at the centre of their music.

“The result has become an organic collection of songs, all of which will grow if you let them. You are more than welcome to join our sphere of solace.”
