“Sludge metal power trio from the volcanic soil of Jeløy.”

Årsfortærer is a three-piece sludge metal band from Jeløy in Norway. They formed in 2023, and self-released their first EP »(1,2)« the following year.

Årsfortærer’s musical style is influenced by black metal, hardcore, doom and death metal, and the band describes their sound is evocative, hypnotic and manic. Lyrically and emotionally, their songs visits themes such as existential dread, loss of the Self, and the doubt of one’s own sanity.

Today, on November 14th, Årsfortærer release their first full-length album digitally, named »Jordsmonn«, which can be translated to “Soil” in English.
