The band commented: “After years of friendship, we are proud to announce our collaboration with Meuse Music Records. Doom metal may never dominate the headlines, but the genre thrives thanks to a handful of dedicated labels whose passion keeps the flame alive. Meuse has been making waves in the scene for some time, and we are honored to join their ranks.

We’re thrilled to share our new home alongside some of our favorite bands such as Helevorn and Evadne, as well as friends from the scene and past collaborations including Soliloquium, Lying Figures, Tethra, Gévaudan, Pilgrimage, HellLight and many more too numerous to mention. The excitement around Meuse reminds me of the energy and excitement that once surrounded Firebox Records in the early 2000s.

A heartfelt thank you to Jean-Francois, Serge, and Denis for this opportunity. May this collaboration bring mutual satisfaction and help us all push doom metal forward.

Be sure to follow their page and check out the amazing bands that already released new music on the label.”

Old Night is a doom metal band formed in 2015 by Luka Petrović from Rijeka (Croatia).

While deeply rooted in traditional doom metal, Old Night’s sound draws heavily from traditional heavy metal, progressive rock and atmospheric music, resulting in a style that is both expansive and emotionally resonant. The band vision is to create innovative and original music, free from external expectations and limitations.

»Mediterranean Melancholy«, Old Night’s fourth studio album is a record shaped by history, myth, and mourning. A reflection on the deep emotional bond between land, sea, and self, this record stands as a profound tribute to the most beautiful corner of the universe and the place the band calls home.

The album holds deep significance for Old Night, marking both a new beginning and a continuation of their artistic path. While unmistakably and inimitably Old Night, the record does not dwell on the past. Instead, it pushes forward – deeper, darker and more daring – embracing the twists and emotional undercurrents that define their sound, now refined and elevated to new heights.

Each song explores a different facet of the band’s relationship with their homeland – from wistful memories of lost Summers and the comforting scent of the hearth, to profound reflections on time, water, and the cosmos.

The album blends personal history with timeless symbols: the hearth, the lighthouse, the sea, the storm. The result is a journey that feels both intimate and mythic, grounded and cosmic. Rather than following a linear narrative, the album unfolds as a rich mosaic of emotional fragments, all connected by an unmistakably Mediterranean essence and carried by melodies as vast as the sea.

Featuring a renewed line-up, »Mediterranean Melancholy« establishes Old Night as one of the most unique and compelling voices in the contemporary doom metal scene. You are invited to immerse yourself in the mystical, melancholic world of Old Night for the next 44 minutes. Surrender to the waves and let them carry you on a journey into the unknown, across the seas of time and beyond the stars.
