Kraków, Poland based death/doom metal trio Wingless share new music video for the track »Nyctophilia« from their latest full-length album, »Nonconform«, out on October 1st, 2021 on CD/digital via Selfmadegod Records.
Video has been entirely created with a tremendously time demanding technique of photographic stills. All was shot only at the night time, with the lowest amount of artificial light needed. Haunting imagery reflects the story of a man addicted to the night. Depression, misanthropy and psychical sickness is just the surface of the story.
Here is what Greg, the band’s frontman and guitarist, briefly says about it: “…We wanted our creative work to turn out into something far more meaningful than just a common video clip, something different from many of those things that you often see as a montage of a few backstory scenes combined with some nice camera shots of the band playing its track. Our idea was actually focused on presenting a solid story that would strongly correspond to the sinister aura of the song itself.
»Nyctophilia« – is a special selection dedicated to all of those who love the night-time, indulge themselves in it and can best function during its dark period. It is my sincere hope that the black-and-white format of the whole video as well as its time-lapse shots will definitely emphasise the expressive character of this picture…”
Despite much commotion and turmoil that accidentally happened during the shooting of this picture, the satisfactory final effect has been achieved, in a few months.
This short promotes the band’s fourth album »Nonconform«, released on Selfmadegod Rec. in October 2021.
Wingless cherishes the best tunes of death/doom metal genre. Formed in 2012 (Krakow, Poland) on the initiative of Greg Luzar, in 2012.
This year in spring, the group celebrated the tenth anniversary of its music activity. At present, Wingless is working on the new LP, so stay tuned!
