Big thanks to Arkadiusz Malczewski for mixing and mastering and to Basia Żach for creating amazing illustrations that decorate the album’s booklet and capture the atmosphere of the stories told in the lyrics. Thank you to all of you who support us!”
Datûra is a blend of post-metal, progressive metal, and dark-folk. Hypnotic melodies and stories from the borderlands of dream and reality intertwine with wild rhythms and cries of despair, wrapped in soothing chants and atmospheric guitars.

“The tracks on the album »Obsidian« are composed like stories – they seem to have long, intricate plots and turning points. The lyrics symbolically refer to extraordinary stories and experiences that happened to the lyricist over years of contemplating and exploring the nature of the mind.” explains Datûra.
The band was formed in 2020 in Warsaw. The mini-album titled »Datûra« released in December 2022, garnered interest from the media and listeners. The band has a series of well-received concerts across the country, including a performance at the Summer Dying Loud festival.
About the album, Datûra says: “»Obsidian« is an album we have been working on since the very beginning of the band’s existence, which is four years. We wanted the release to visually resemble a book, corresponding with the tracks. The illustrations in the booklet included with the album are filled with symbolism related to the elements, nature, and alchemy, and they can serve as a key to a deeper understanding of the lyrics.”
