Polish post-sludge/stoner/doom metal band Optical Sun announces new album »Diabeł« and premieres first single »Mój Bóg nie umarł«!

Lublin, Poland based post-sludge/stoner/doom metal band Optical Sun premieres the first single »Mój Bóg nie umarł« taken from their upcoming new album, »Diabeł«, which will be released on September 11th, 2025.
»Mój Bóg nie umarł« is available now on all major streaming platforms!
Optical Sun play stoner/post-sludge/doom metal. The band’s trademark has become samples and visuals from old Polish movies – including »Przyjaciel Wesołego Diabła« directed by Jerzy Lukaszewicz, and »Pan Twardowski« from 1936, interspersed with strong throaty vocals and double bass parts. Optical Sun has an unusual approach to instrumentation – they play two basses, with one serving a rhythmic function and the other as a lead one.
In the track »Mój Bóg nie umarł«, Optical Sun uses a poem by poet Kazimierz Raton. Among the spoken samples used are excerpts from the film »Diabeł« directed by Andrzej Zulawski, from the TV series »Przyłbice i Kaptury«, directed by Marek Piestrak, as well as Zbigniew Jerzyna’s radio drama »Gasnące kolory«.

The album also includes the unique track »Gasnące kolory«, which is a radio drama created under the melodic line of the composition »Strach« and is a kind of loop in the album’s structure. In the new material, the band continues to experiment with mixing intense vocals with spoken samples from movies, creating a modern, emotional sound.
